What is a “Nouveau” wine, exactly? In French, “nouveau” means “new,” and that’s the idea. Nouveau wines are harvested and fermented in the same season, then released right away for your immediate enjoyment. They taste light, bright, and fruit-forward. Moreover, they’re crafted to be savored young rather than cellared for years. Our Prairie Nouveau uses carbonic maceration, a fermentation method that captures vibrant fruit character before the grapes are pressed. As a result, the process speeds up by roughly 6–12 months compared to traditional styles. You’ll notice juicy aromas, soft tannins, and a refreshingly smooth finish. Additionally, the wine pairs beautifully with cozy market snacks and cool fall weather.

Explore the Holiday Market outside for local makers and festive finds. Mulled wine will be served near the market to keep things toasty while you browse. From 3–6 PM, enjoy live music by Jeremy Ober that adds a warm soundtrack to your afternoon. Meanwhile, take a tour of our Wine Production Facility for a behind-the-scenes look at our winemaking facility, with samples taken directly from tanks and barrels. Each year, Prairie Nouveau debuts with a fresh label design, honoring the tradition of Beaujolais Nouveau. This year, we opened art submissions, and the winning label will be revealed at the festival. It’s a fun surprise that spotlights regional creativity and community spirit.
